I Disappeared!

I know! I’ve been gone forever… And my excuse is, COMPUTER UPGRADESSSSSSSSSSS. I’ve finally bit the bullet and upgraded my system to Windows 7 (much to my dismay) and I’ve been slowly trying to get all of my old programs reinstalled and everything set up to run nice and smoothly. The last thing missing is Photoshop, and until I manage to get it back onto my system, I haven’t got any new photos to show, sadly enough. I’m hoping that I’ll get it back up and running soon, I’m itching to get some of this work done! The Uni term will start back up again in about a month’s time, so I’ll have easy access to the equipment again and get back out there and shooting! And hopefully I’ll aquire my eels around the same time, so I can finally get this shoot done and the image out of my head. I’m excited!

Soooooooooooooooo, point is. Pictures soon. I promise!

Pics Coming Soon?

I’ll be honest… I’ve been so freaking lazy lately that I’ve let everything pass me by in favour of sitting down and watching useless TV series rather than sit down and do any work on my Masters project. The list of shows I’ve watched all the way through disgusts me:

  • Dr Who
  • Torchwood
  • True Blood
  • Glee
  • The Vampire Diaries
  • Supernatural
  • Dexter

When the hell did I sell out so bad that I acquiesced to sitting down and watching the majority of these shows, when I said I never would?! I’m so ashamed of myself.

On the bright side, I wrote the conclusion for my essay that I’m not even 1/3 of the way through researching let alone writing yet. Funny how that works. I’ve also got some other shots that I’ve captured and need to finish working on. I just need to find the motivation to do it. I’m wondering if I even really will get this degree finished. At this stage I’ve only got about 6 ideas for the practical component, and that’s primarily because I’m basing it within the conceptual realm. Heh. I’m not so good at making shit up. Another bright side though, I’m planning on building a music portfolio aswell, I just need to convince my supervisor to include it in my marks. But I need to get the equipment and get out there shooting first. Awesome! Hopefully………. Pics will be coming soon. But don’t hold your breath.

So this is a mockup for the eel fashion image I have in mind. Essentially, these are the colours/lighting/shading I’m intending on using, and I think I’m pretty happy with the composition. The facial expression needs some work though, big time. It’s not quite in line with the image I have in my head. The image will also have a completely different feel once the scarf is replaced with an eel. I wish they’d hurry up and start biting so I can get this one done!!!

Vincent by Don McLean

I think this is easily one of McLean’s best. While American Pie is more popular and upbeat, this song has a deeper meaning and beauty to it. It’s also an excellent demonstration of the skill in McLean’s vocals. Art within music.

Inception

Woooooooooooow. I finally just got to see Inception, and holy crapola is it amazing! Easily the best movie I’ve ever seen, without a doubt. My biggest concern was that I would get confused trying to follow the storyline, but it made absolute perfect sense. So either it was explained really well, or I’m just getting smarter!! I hope it’s the latter. It’s funny too, I actually enjoyed the storyline and the complexity of it all… Not only was it exquisitely written, it was a storyline that I found enjoyable/entertaining. That’s the first time in very, very long time that I’ve been entertained by something that wasn’t a comedy! Definitely one of the movies that will have to make it into my collection… The hardest part is deciding whether Inception, or Schindler’s List is my favourite movie. What a dilemma.
